LEARN

YOU CAN LEARN TO THINK ENTREPRENEURIALLY.

Entrepreneurship is not a personality type. It is a trainable skill.

Dr. Kai Bruns zeigt auf Haftnotizen mit einem Modell

I show you how to spot opportunities, make decisions and turn ideas into something new, even under uncertainty.

You don't need to know more about everything. You need the ability to see what matters right now, make good decisions and derive the next step from what you learn.

That is exactly what you can train.

FIVE SKILLS. FOR EVERY KIND OF NEW.

Entrepreneurial action does not begin with founding a company. It begins where you want to make something new possible and don't yet know how it will work.

01 · RECOGNIZE

What is the opportunity here, really?

Spot opportunities, problems and assumptions.

02 · DECIDE

What do I need to decide now?

Act even though not all the information is available yet.

03 · EXPERIMENT

Which assumption do I need to test?

Find out what works through small steps.

04 · DEVELOP

What needs to come out of this?

Turn an idea into a value proposition and a business model.

05 · LEAD

How do I bring others on board?

Win others over for change.

22 DECISIONS FROM WHICH SOMETHING NEW EMERGES.

An idea does not become a business because you write a perfect business plan.

You have to make a series of decisions and keep learning along the way. Every step follows the same logic, including the question of how AI can support you.

FAQ

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS.

Can entrepreneurial thinking be learned?

Yes. Entrepreneurial thinking consists of skills that can be practised. I work with five competencies, described below.

What is the difference between entrepreneurial thinking and founding a company?

Founding is one application of it. You can think entrepreneurially as an employee, as a volunteer or in your family. It is about spotting opportunities and doing something with them.

Which five competencies do you teach?

There are different frameworks. EntreComp has three areas (Ideas & Opportunities, Resources, Into Action), Design Thinking lists eight steps. I follow my own practical experience, and there it was mostly about five things: spotting opportunities and assumptions, deciding without complete information, experimenting in small steps that clarify something, turning the idea into an offer and a business model, and winning others over for the change, which means leading.

How do you get started?

Always with a problem. At its core, entrepreneurship is service to the customer, or as Karl Popper put it: life is problem solving. Once you have found a really good problem, you take stock of yourself: who are you, which resources do you already have, whom do you know? Then you get going.

What are the 22 decisions?

The 22 decisions lead from the first idea to a running business, in three phases with 10, 7 and 5 decisions. You make them one after another, in small steps.

How do I use AI for this?

A good rule of thumb is the 20-60-20 rule. You start with 20 percent: your thoughts and your idea of what you want to do. Then you let AI sharpen your ideas or check them for gaps. With the result you look at whether the priorities are right and how to fit it even better to you and your situation.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO KNOW EVERYTHING.

YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHAT TO FIND OUT NEXT.

That is entrepreneurial thinking. And that is exactly what you can learn.
